Port Sheldon Township
is updating its Master Plan!
@frommichiganwithloveblog
Port Sheldon Township is in the process of updating its Master Plan and developing an Economic Resiliency Plan. In general, a Master Plan is a policy-guiding document used by Township decision-makers to create planning, zoning, capital improvement, and other policies as they relate to land uses, preservation approaches, housing strategies, recreation amenities, transportation enhancements, and more. The Economic Resiliency Plan will include a deep dive into the Township’s business, industry, environmental, and other economic development aspects to build a foundation for future market opportunities, especially considering the loss of tax revenue from the closure of the JH Campbell Plant.
The intention of this Master Plan is not to change the entire landscape of Port Sheldon Township, but to set a foundation for future land uses, policies, and opportunities to continue the Township’s status as a premier place to live and recreate.
This planning process is not complete without the input from the Township’s valued residents, taxpayers, and business owners.
The Port Sheldon Township Board approved the Master Plan, Economic Resiliency Plan, and Sub-Area Plan for the required 63-Day Comment Period on May 14.
The Comment Portal will be open until the Planning Commission Public Hearing on July 23.
